Introduction

There is currently funding available to managers through the Leadership and Management Advisory Service (LMAS) provided you meet a simple criteria:

† Your organisation needs to employ between 5-249 people, although there is a small amount of money available to those with less than 5

† You need to be a senior manager

† Your organisation must not have claimed any funding against the LMAS since 2007

Are you entitled to Government funding?

If you meet the criteria above, you may well be entitled to funding. The grant can be up to £1000 towards any development you undertake. The first £500 is payable from the grant, the next £500 is payable by your organisation but will be matched from the grant. This means that you could claim up to £1000 in funding and your organisation will pay £500.

The first £500 is dedicated to a key senior manager and is always fully refundable. The remaining grant money may be used towards the development of your management team.

Below are some examples:

Example 1 - You decide to do some development based on strategy and you get a consultant to do it for £495.00. This amount is fully refundable under the scheme.

Example 2 - You decide to get some training and it costs £1000. The first £500 is fully refundable and the rest (£500) is split. Your organisation pays £250 and that is matched with another £250 from the LMAS funding.
